Ground anchors: what are they? Why is it important?
From retaining walls to tunnels, many buildings and civil engineering structures involve cutting into or piling up soil, resulting in unstable walls or embankments, and posing a hazard to people and objects below. To stabilize the earth, engineers cover the earth with an outer layer or skin made of materials such as concrete.
